Tahoe Bound

That's right everyone I'll be Tahoe bound in a few hours. It's vacation time for Little "G" and I am afraid I will be away from my blogging assistant for the next 10 days. So I'm inviting all of you to take the time to check out my extensive picture galleries on Flickr and Smugmug for your daily fix of Little "G". Of course you could also check out the archives on this site to revisit past adventures and maybe even see some that you may have missed.
So much for myself promotion and on to today's adventures. It was up into the Windy Hill Preserve for our walk and communion with nature. Sometimes we see lots of wild life like deer, rabbits and coyotes but not today. Our contact with animal life was with our horse and doggy friends all who said they would miss me while I was on vacation.
My next stop was at Corte Madera School where I played on the play structure with Farfar. I scurried up the stairs and chain ladder and on to the slides all by myself. I beat Farfar up the structure and down the slides every time. The dogs and Farmor found a nice shady spot to watch us play. Finally I felt that I should ease up on Farfar and climbed back into my stroller for the ride home.
The ride home gave me a chance to recover so that I had plenty of energy for the swimming pool. Wow I did recover well I did so much jumping and diving into the pool that all that water in my nose had a therapeutic effect. It loosened up mucous that had built up in my nasal passages and it all came out in one large gooey messy blob. It looked bad but I got a good laugh out of it and I can breath unobstructed now.
After the pool and my shower it was lunch time and I ate well. Oh yes you want a picture today don't you? Well here it is Saxon and me playing on the floor just like good brothers should.

Before I forget Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad. Saxon and I are real lucky to have such loving caring parents....... Little "G"

Hook-um-Up

How do we get ready to go on our walks? We start by getting all our goodies together, we make sure we have enough carrots, dog treats and water for all our friends. Don't forget I need my snacks, juice and water too. Here you see one of the next steps as I help Farfar put the leashes on the dogs. In the picture I'm putting Ricki's collar and leash on, well I'm attempting it anyway. The dogs are real patient with me as I'm learning this part of the operation. Then its out the door and the adventure begins.
Today we went up Hillbrook Trail so that we could visit with the horses that live along the trail. There is a awesome backyard that we walked by on the trail it has lots of old tractors and other farming equipment like a tool that has lots of steel wheels that turn the dirt. You can see another big yellow tractor in the background but I don't know how that was used.
Next we stopped to feed our horse friends some carrots that where greatly appreciated. Here are a few pictures of the horses and Ricki and me watching them.
I stopped to run and play on the trails as usual I shared my carrots and goodies with the dogs before we headed home.
Once back home it was time to change into my swim gear and to help Farfar get the pool ready to use. We have to scoop out any debris that has blown into the pool turn on the spa and open the cover. Then its time for fun splashing, jumping and throwing toys. I'm learning to put my face in the water and I'm doing well at floating on my back. Sometimes Farfar even takes his hands away so I float all on my own.
Then its lunch, hamburger, hot dog. cheese and noodles..... Little "G"

The Pool is Open

Yes the pool is open again and I took advantage of it. It is much warmer today and after our long walk over to hidden valley we came home and went straight to the backyard and into the pool. How refreshing it felt to splash into the nice cool water.
You maybe able to tell from the look on my face that I'm enjoying the water immensely. I can even get in and out of the pool all by myself. No mom I don't go into the pool without Farfar being in there first. Those are Farmors rules for using the pool and I'm real good about obeying them.
Farfar and I splashed, jumped and swam all around the pool. Of course Ricki had to bring his ball to the pool and drop it in so that we had to get it for him. He takes the ball and runs away to the grass and lays down. I get out of the pool and go get the ball from him and throw it back into the pool. Ricki runs back to the pool as I jump back into the water and I laugh and laugh as Ricki bobs his face into the water trying to get the ball.
All that walking and swimming makes one hungry so for lunch I gobbled up lots of fresh hamburger meat, noodles and vegetable sticks. This was after having snacked all morning on my walk on carrots, pop tarts and fruits........ I'm a little tired now......... Little "G"

Up and Over

I'm climbing my way to the top. First I step up onto the metal fire gate. Then I climb on the supports all the way to the top and then scramble my way over the top to the other side. What Fun!
That's just one of the fun things I did on my walk today. It was a cool overcast morning here in the valley. That means we can get out and walk a long ways. But not before Oma dropped by for a quick visit. I went out to check her car but Boggie wasn't with her. Boggie is Oma's dog you may have seen him in some of my pictures and videos. I did get to get in Oma's car and try out the steering wheel and shift lever.
Back to my walk we ran into 6 other boys all about my age or just a little older. Two of the boys are the sons of my dad's friend Jason and the other boys I met for the first time today. We visited for a while and then we were back on our way visiting our animal friends.
There was no swimming today it still was fairly cold outside and Farmor said no swimming today maybe tomorrow. Oh well it was lunch time when we got home from our walk anyway. Hot dogs and noodles one of my favorites......... Little "G"

Wonderment

Wonderment what does that mean? Well to me you can see from the picture and the look on my face is large noisy bright colored consruction equipment. First it catches my attention, then I concentrate to see if it is really real. Then I don't want Farmor and Farfar to miss it so I point it out to them.
Today the operator was busy scooping dirt and building up a nice dirt berm. The noise coming from the tractors tread was awesome. The sound of metal on metal and squeal of cable against pulleys is music to my ears. If you click on the picture you will see it in all its glory.
The tractor or big yellow cat was the highlight of my walk today. Yes I got to feed my animal friends and run and play on the trails but nothing was as exciting as that tractor. By the time we got home I was ready for a swim and collected my swim vest and water shoes and headed out to the pool. I helped Farfar open the pool and turn on the bubble pool. Of course there was lots of splashing and the throwing of dog toys into the pool. I just love to watch Ricki put his whole face in the water to get his ball. I laugh and laugh at the big silly dog. Hope you all have a nice weekend....... Little "G"

Hungry Boy

I'm hungry all the time. That seems to be my message for the day. I have been eating all morning long and still had plenty of room left for lunch. Milk, carrots, fruits, yogurt and pop tarts all before a lunch of noodles, one and half hot dogs and ice cream for desert.
Oh yes the picture well as you can see I'm able to operate the fan one handed. (Treat yourself to a large view by clicking on the photo for a larger view) I even now how to set it to rotated and oscillate the speed of the fan. Something new every day thats what Farfar says.
We went on our walk down to Rossotti's Field today so the dogs and I could run around on the trails and play our hide and seek games. When we got home I insisted that we go in the pool and even Farmor went in today. I guess miracles do happen.... Little "G"

Cement Truck

On my walk today we saw lots of neat construction vehicles but none as special as the orange cement truck. It was parked on Possum Lane and it had this neat revolving mixer on the back of this huge truck. The operator even had a hose that he was using to wash down the slide where the cement comes out.
They even had this pumper thing that he emptied the cement into and then the cement was pumped through a huge hose to the job site. As you might be able to figure out I spent a bit of time watching the men at work.
The rest of the walk was sort of uneventful, I rode on Farfar's shoulders, ran along the trails and even saw a coyote over at the Jelich Ranch. Then it was pool time and a shower before lunch. The picture is my brother Saxon and I playing last night at Farmors house. i think Farfar is putting some other pictures on Flickr so why not take a peek...... Little "G"

New Truck

Wow I got over to Farmor Eivor's house this morning and what did I find? A new huge tow truck with a driver and blocks that you can stick together in the bed of the truck. I was so busy playing with the truck that I forgot to get a Popsicle. Of course that did not last for long I remembered that the way to start the day is with a Popsicle in each hand. I took a few licks and then handed them over to Farfar so that I could resume playing with the truck.
The truck has a neat tow hook that I can use to hook up some of my other cars and tow them all around. Sometimes when the car comes off the hook I get a little frustrated and let everyone know that I'm not happy about the situation. I never do give up I get the car re attached and we on our way.
On our walk we ended up on Georgia Lane and Joe's house where I ran and played with dogs as usual. Today I had fun investigating what was on the old porch, it was a mailbox and I found a old telephone directory in it. As you can tell by the picture I had to give it a good once over before returning it to the mailbox.
When we got home it was time to go into the pool. What a nice day to swim, jump and splash in the water. Then it was off to the shower and lunch. I've been eating like a horse all day, carrots, pop tarts, juicy fruits and juice. That was all before a lunch of noodles, hot dog and ice cream. I gobbled down the hot dog and ate most of my noodles. I guess I was hungry maybe I'm growing again...... Little "G"

Just Like Farmor

How do you like this picture? I fashioned it after my observation of Farmor and her reading style over the past two years. I think I have it down check out the placement of glasses on the bridge of my nose and how I steady the paper as I read.
Of course I'm also in a very relaxed position leaned back and feet up. Just like Farmor
Its another warm day and we cut our walk short and came home to the pool. It was nice in the pool and while I was spraying off the dogs with the hose Ricki got so excited that he fell into the pool. Of course I thought this was very funny as I haven't seen the dogs swim before. Ricki is so strong that when he paddles with his front feet he almost lifts himself out of the water. Farfar guided him over to the stairs where he was able to get out on his own.
You should have seen the water fly as Ricki shakes and shakes to get all the water off. Do you think that he learned anything from this experience? No he was right over to my position barking to let me know he was ready to be sprayed again. Thankfully he did not fall in again but we had a real fun time.
Lunch was Hot Dogs and Rotini and I had already been snacking on pop tarts, raisins, cereal and carrots...... Little "G"

Re-Discovery

Today was a day for re-discovery. I discovered a old play spot over at Corte Madera School. Yes I had a great time playing on the big kids play structure. It has two gigantic slides that I go on all by myself. I found that when I poured water on the top of the slide it ran all the way down to the bottom where it collected into a pool. The dogs appreciated the pool and drank the water as I laughed and giggled at them.
Those arn't the only neat apparatus I climbed up the chain ladder without any help from Farfar.
When I got to the top I found a yellow tennis ball that I threw down for the dogs. The dogs love to fetch balls and I'm getting good at throwing them.
You say how about the picture "G" well as you can tell I was thrilled to put this old toy through its paces. It makes all sorts of barnyard noises and I recognize them all. We see all those types of animals up here in the Valley. I will have to admit that I haven't seen a pig yet but who knows maybe someday soon.
I was back into the pool today and had a great time in the water as you might imagine. Hot dogs, linguine, potato fries and some ice cream for lunch, yummy, yummy...... Little "G"

Spare the Air

Yes today is a spare the air day in the San Francisco Bay Area. The air is full of smoke and other nasty stuff plus heat. This all adds up to a day to take it easy. So instead of going out on our long Tuesday walk we played in the backyard and spent a lot more time in the pool.
Farfar and I found a new game to play with the dogs, we took the water hose into the pool with us and squirted out at the dogs. Ricki especially loved this game as he got to bite at the water and bark at us for more. He and Nika got soaking wet in the process and I'll bet it felt really good because the thermometer which is out by the pool was reading 84 degrees already.
It was so warm and the pool water was so inviting that even Farmor came into the pool to play with us. We all had a good time splashing each other and jumping into the pool. We must have spent a good hour and a half in the water before it was time to shower off and find other things to do inside as it was getting a bit warm outside and the sun was starting to beat down on the pool.
As you can see from the picture and the video we always find interesting things to do. The picture shows me trying on my rain boots and I'm doing it all by myself. The video is a shower scene toddler style I hope you enjoy it....... Little "G"

Diving

It's hot today and it looks like it may be hot for the rest of the week. So what better time for me to work on my swimming and diving. After we walked the dogs it was time to exercise the pool. I turned out in my swimming attire which consists of swim trunks, swim vest and water shoes to protect ones feet.
Today Farfar and I worked on entering the pool. I don't just walk down the steps into the pool. I have Farfar go in first and then I climb onto the first step and dive into the pool. Of course Farfar is there to help me with the landing. Its then time to splash and jump up and down and kick ones feet. I understand that learning to kick is essential to learning to swim. It also helps in getting others wet, like Farmor and the dogs.
We play for a few minutes then I get out of the pool and go around to the deep end where Farfar positions himself to assist with re-entry into the pool. I put out my hands and learn forward all while jumping into Farfars arms. Sometimes I even end up going under the water. Farfar says I have to learn to close my mouth when I enter the water so that I don't swallow too much water.
Today I practiced floating on my back and kicking my legs just like Farfar does. Its kind of fun to ride on him as we learn to swim around the pool. We are both on our backs and the dogs follow us around the pool so that they don't miss any of the fun.
Swimming makes you hungry and I ate real well for lunch. I had bow tie pasta, hot dog, potato fries and some cake for dessert...... Little "G"

G and Nika

Here is a picture from today of Nika and me playing in the backyard. Farmors niece Jennie came to visit and our day has been real busy. Farfar and I took the dogs out first thing this morning and we ran into firemen who were parked at Roberts Market and I got to see the fire truck up close and personal.
When we got home of course it was time to go into the pool even thou it was still early in the morning. The water was nice and we turned on the spa which quickly warmed up to 90 degrees.
When I get a little chilled in the pool we go into the spa for a few minutes to warm up then back into the pool. Just as I was geting into the shower to rinse off Jennie came and the visiting started between Jennie and Farmor. I was polite and visited for a while then Farfar and I headed outside to play. It was nice to see Jennie again and she invited us to visit her new home in Santa Cruz. I can't wait to go and play with her dog D.J. and maybe go down to the beach. Here is a picture of Jennie who is pregnant with twins.
Have a nice 4th of July...... Little "G"

Skittles

No not the candy but Skittles the yellow lab who lives on Georgia Lane. We pass by Skittles house several times a week but we haven't' seen her for sometime and were concerned that she might not be feeling well. You see Skittles is getting up in age and has a hard time getting up sometimes.
Today when we went by we were relieved to see her lying in the driveway in the nice warm sun. She saw us and her tail began to wag and even thou she had to struggle to get to her feet she came out to greet us. Farmor and I went up to say hello and I fed her some dog cookies. She just loves them and is so gentle in taking them form me. She nuzzles my hand and I give her the treat and her tail goes a mile a minute. We pet her and tell her what a nice girl she is.
Farfar and the dogs wait patiently at the head of the driveway until we are through with our visit. We give Skittles a final cookie and a pat on her head and we are off to other adventures.... Little "G"
